Project Sunday!

Sundays are the ideal day to get little projects done, like sewing or DIY or in my case both today!

I don't know about you but I am particularly terrible for starting a project and not finishing it forever, I have no idea what that is about, sometimes I just don't have the time but I suspect it's more because I lose interest or momentum!

Anyway way back last summer I set myself a schedule of about 6 weeks where I aimed to get as many unfinished projects finished as I could. I did pretty good actually but there are still things to do. During this time I put up a curtain rail in my office/sewing room, but didn't get round to making the curtains, yep that's last summer *hangs head in shame*

Today I decided it was about time I completed on the task!

Here is the fabric. Sorry for some reason the picture is a little blurry but you get the idea.

It's a modern repro of Hawaiian barkcloth, I've had it ages and ages and knew it was about time I did something with it!

And here they are made!!

I'd love to have floor to ceiling curtains but all our radiators are under the window and I just can't see the point in having curtains covering the heating. So I usually make mine short. These are a little shorter than I would normally make but it's all the fabric I had, I still think they look pretty cool though.

They don't quite reach the radiator but are much longer than the window sill so I'm happy. We have blinds on all our windows we have an extremely sunny house which I'm sure most would think is nice but in reality we have to turn the blinds a lot.

So that's my project Sunday, obviously I've been pottering around doing other stuff too, but I'm pretty pleased I finally got these done. Now what to do for next project!

Did you have a project Sunday? I'd be interested to know what you got up to!

Wonderful! I love the colors!

I have so many "gotta do" projects, it can be overwhelming!!! So I take them on as either 1.) My interest in them is strong or 2.) the need for it is strong.

I so want to get to the point of only having to dust furniture as my weekly chore. The projects and such never end. Dusting gets done... Hardly ever lol...

And I never seem to make my curtains look good for whatever window they are meant for!

OK, time to stop rambling... =)

Great curtains! I'm really bad at not finishing knitting projects. Or worse not starting sewing ones...

What beautiful fabric, I bet all your visitors walk round beaming at all your gorgeous, vibrant projects.
I've been without the internet all day and after an hour of the Wii Fit to counterbalance all the booze and food last night I cracked on with making myself a dress. xxx

How cute, they are so cheery. We have to make-do with what our landlords have in place, dreary green and mud brown! xx

Well I worked on my housecoat! Had to do a mad dash to hobbycraft as ran out of some bits and didnt get as far as I'd of liked due to my 17 month old being a tad demanding!
Love the curtains, I've yet to attempt a pair ! X

Those curtains are so pretty! Well done! My crafty Sunday consisted of over-dyeing some blue jeans and trying to figure out how to attach a Peter Pan collar. The jeans came out nicely...the collar, I still can't figure out!

I didn't sew I cleaned two big dumping pile surfaces in my house I had been meaning to file things and organize etc... I should really get on to finishing my muslin for my wearing history smooth sailing blouse all I wanted to do is put in some buttons just to see what the actual fit will be and the sad thing is that I think I packed on a few pounds since I started the muslin so I really need to test for tightness I may need to had more onto pattern for a proper fit. I am seriously considering wearing my waist cincher daily not for looks but as a reminder to myself to stop the extra stress eating.
Anyway love the curtains they look great and not to worry about the length we have all the original curtains in our 59 ranch house out (at least they sure look original) and none of them reach the floor they are all window length. I have bunch of vintage bark cloth to make curtains for our vintage trailer but its sprung a few leaks and I would have to have them ruined.

Hi there! I found your blog via Tasha (By Gum, By Golly). The curtains are lovely. I commend your follow through on unfinished projects. I have a half finished dress currently mocking me in my closet. The longer it goes, the harder they are to finish, it seems.
