Dreaming of Spring!

Well I am still sat here on the sofa in my PJs with my nose and eyes streaming, not being able to complete a sentence without coughing my guts up! So all I've been doing since we last spoke is sleeping, blowing my never ending streaming nose, coughing and trawling the internet, looking at pretty things!

I like all seasons I have to admit, I love winter too but somehow come February I'm getting rather sick of it. I'm definately a more Spring/Summer clothes wearing person, I'm lucky enough to have a mum that knits so I do have some cute sweaters, but there is nothing nicer than sandals, bare legs and cotton clothing!!

Ages ago I took pictures of all my fabric - mind you I've bought more since that I haven't taken pics of yet, whoops! - and so I've trawled through it dreaming about what I'll make soon for Spring/Summer

I do love seersucker I don't know why but it's more comfortable than standard cotton cos it has a bit more give and seems lighter as a result. So the first 2 are seersucker, I have enough of both to make dresses, can't you just feel the soft summer breezer & sun on your skin right now?!!

I've already made one blouse out of the next fabric which sadly I've never worn, when I made it, I made it too big, now it's too small! However it will fit again soon and I do have enough to make something else too!

Can you tell I like a bit of colour? I do hate bland & boring he he!

oooh I love this next one and if you're a sewer you can see this already has darts in it, that's because I started a blouse, but ran out of time to finish it before I went on holiday, then I came back put loads of weight on, and need to lose it before I finish it, otherwise I can't wear it! Actually I might just finish it and have something to aim for!!

And last but not least, this lovely fabric which I don't have a lot of so I'm going to have to be particularly inventive about how I cut and make a blouse out of it! If I had a 34 inch chest I'd probably be ok, but I don't!

I won't be making any of these up this weekend if I do start to feel human again. I want to make some curtains for my office/sewing room first.

Hope you are all well and hope you all have a great weekend!

Oh still ill, I do feel for you. Personally though I've had quite enough of heat and humidity. You know it's hot when you get up in the morning and don't need to use the loo!

Damn, keep taking care of yourself! When I get sick, I get very, very sick. I know how bad it feels.

You mentioned you love the mexican type vintage cloth, and now every time I see some, I think of you!

It used to have a lot more charm here in southern Calif, USA, but being so close to the border, and the issues with illegal immigration, I don't think folks are quite as charmed by mexico lol... (Was that too controversial?)

But Mom used to have a vintage painting of a Spanish Dancer hanging in the master bedroom.

I love the fourth one down, with the red and yellow! I hope you get to finish that one. Actually, I love all of them. Gosh, I wish it would get a little more seasonal so I could break out my Tiki and Hawaiian prints! It was nice to see these pretty fabrics for a splash of color on a cloudy morning. :)

You poor girl! I'm sending you lots of positive vibes and love and hoping you're better soon. At least you can console yourself by looking at your fabulous fabric stash. I'm so envious but I'd just ruin it if I tried to sew anything as intricate as a blouse. xxx
