Pick yourself up.....part 2!

Well I haven't been blogging much of late, sorry about that, life happens and the trivial stuff in life - like blogging let's face it - gets put to one side!

I've been struggling to talk about pretty stuff when I have other big things going on, I know that you all know how that is, as some of the lovely bloggers I follow have been through it too.

ANYWAY, my big news is the recession is costing us dearly, and I am off to look for a job. Yes a 'working for someone else' job! Don't worry Notorious Kitsch is not going anywhere, but in these tough times although we are getting by and in fact building the business, we need more cash in our pockets. My husband - as I have explained before - can't work due to disability so sometimes you just have to buckle down and do what is needed! So he is going to run Notorious Kitsch, and I will help out evenings and weekends, and I am out there now, touting my wares so to speak!

It's been a while since I was in the big old world of office work, I don't really know what to expect, I know there isn't much about at the moment and that's kind scary, I also know that I have a very varied work history, a good one but a very varied one, I'm the type that needs the right job, but when that company is looking for that person for that job, there's not many who can fill it like I can, this is an advantage as well as a disadvantage!

So then my mind got to thinking about appropriate dress codes! I haven't had to think about this for going on 3 years now eeek. I don't have many office appropriate clothes, so I guess I'll be sewing and making do a lot.

Anyway I love this song and it reminds me to think about what I have got, not concentrate on what I haven't got! I prefer it by Dean Martin, but couldn't find a video of him singing it! But Doris ain't so bad!!

The reason I have not been blogging quite as much lately: work. Another 18 hour day yesterday, I hope to cut back to 16 for today. ugh lol...

Hope you find a job you like!

Aw bummer :( Bad news about you having to take an outside job, but hopefully it wont be forever and when the business builds a little, you will be able to go back to it full time again.
Its always in the back of my mind that I may have to do similar if things dont work out for me too, but if I do, then I do. Good luck finding something soon :)

aw thanks hon, business is ok just not quite building up as quickly cos of the recession and we have debts to pay off and I just want to get it sorted, you know how it is! Hey sometimes part of being self-employed is being employed when necessary!

Good luck! I was in the same boat a few months ago, although I loved working at the vintage shop, I barely made enough to pay for my cosmetics. I know you will find something for you, and hopefully they won't mind if you slip in your vintage pieces when you go to work. I was concerned about that, but my work kind of enjoys seeing what outfits I wear everyday.

Thanks Kim! Yes I'm hoping I can slip in some vintage pieces, it's kinda hard to hide the bright red hair, so hopefully it will be somewhere I can be me, we'll see!

Sorry for the late comment Fiona, what sad news. You really seem to have had a rough trot lately. But hopefully taking a job will make life a bit easier in the long run. My thoughts are with you .xx.

(The first time I commented, I made a very silly typo, so I removed it.) ;)

Good luck with finding a job! But hopefully not before the Hendricks brunch, or maybe one that just doesn't need you that morning!
