Neglect, terrible terrible neglect!

So it turns out running a business isn't the most busy you can get, closing a business is the most busy you can get! I can't believe how stupidly busy I've been and how horribly I've neglected you all here! Sorry!

I haven't even had to time to catch up with my favourite blogs, which is usually my me time!

I have some nice news too, although want to share it properly so I'm going to leave you on tenterhooks for now he he!

I'll leave you with a picture of what my life feels like right now, only I'm not wearing a beautiful cocktail dress!

I promise I'll be back soon, Notorious Kitsch closes on 31st July and then I'm giving myself a couple of days off, oh yes time off, then I promise I'll be back!!

A post including shoes & random things!

Hi all, hope you're all well!

I thought after all the doom and gloom from me of late I'd kick it up a notch.

As you all know I do some part time work for Lynsey the lovely Miss L Fire and her other company Shellys. I needed to go up to London to interview her for a piece I'm doing for a magazine, I'll let you know more about that nearer the time! I don't live far from London only 40 miles but don't get up as much as I used to, so now it's more of a treat than anything. I used to live there for a while and realised how little you appreciate such a beautiful city when it's just part of your everyday life.

So as I was having a wander around before my meeting I decided just to take it all in, and more importantly look up! I know this makes you look like a tourist, but hey I don't care, I don't think we appreciate the history and beauty around us sometimes

I just snapped off a couple of shots - I didn't want to look too like a tourist ;o) - of things I saw along the way.

It's these things that make London so well, London!

And now onto shoes as I know that's what you're all waiting for......

I arrived at the Miss L Fire offices and Lynsey and I had a great old chat, ok, erm interview! Sammi was there as well, I'm going to blog about all the lovely ladies who work there one day, I'll sneak up with my camera and do a tour, if you love shoes there is nothing that will make your heart jump more than walking into a lovely spacious loft like office with shoes displayed everywhere, yes people everywhere!!

Anyway I don't know if I explained before but when a shoe company first has their shoes produced they get a sample initially, and guess who is sample size, oh yes ME! Of course these can't be sold as they are samples and they are not sure if they will stand up to rigourous wear so these samples just pile up and pile up over the years, until some lucky soul takes them away, yep you guessed it!

There are not many things in life that get me more excited that shoes, I know that's a bit sad, but it's true and I'll admit it right here and now.

So I came home with 3 pairs of shoes & 2 pairs of boots, bear with me for the last pair of boots as there is a real story behind these!

First up is a lovely suede 40s style sling back heel, not too high, I'm a klutz in high shoes and super comfy, I'm already planning to make more brown items for my wardrobe just for these!

Next up is a super cute pair of 40s style heels again, not too high, and you know me I LOVE red shoes!

Then a lovely cute ankle strap low wedge for day to day wear, these are really lovely and I think they'll look great with skirts or trousers, I know I'll get a lot of wear out of these.

Then, and this is a bit of a peek, these fab boots which are Autumn/Winter collection not out til end of August! I don't have ANY boots and have really struggled with the last 2 terrible winters when I had to resort to wellies and many pairs of socks! They have a real Pendleton check look about them and I LOVE them!

And last but certainly not least are these fabulous cowboy boots! Now there is a tale to tell about these. They are not going into production - I know how sad is that! - and these were samples made up, so I am one of the only people with a pair! Well me and Sammi I think! I love them so much I can't tell you. I love vintage cowboy boots but I've never had a pair as although 40's/50's ones aren't too pointy they tend to lean towards a pointy toe, I do not suit pointy shoes of any type, I'm really short and they just make my feet look too long and clown like, so what I love about these is the rounded toe, it's almost like a bike boot/cowboy boot if you know what I mean.

Anyway I digress how lucky am I to be sample size eh?

So although my week has been like a rollercoaster whilst I try to wrap up my business there has been one massive ray of sunshine on Tuesday and some little rays of sunshine in between.

I'm in talks with a couple of people about other small projects I can undertake for them once I'm finished with Notorious Kitsch, and although closing my business is immensely stressful - I can't even tell you some of the stuff that has happened grrrrr - I see a tiny light at the end of the tunnel and what is nice is that all the people I'm talking to I would love to work with. I don't want to jinx anything by telling you who and what yet but hopefully something will come of both these opportunities!

Meantime I shall carry on with the stress and when things are bad look at my pretty shoes!!!

whoops nearly forgot, if you like Miss L Fire shoes, their sale starts today!!

Sad to announce...

That Notorious Kitsch will be closing it's internet doors in the next few months, a victim of recession and banks grrrrrr!

It's kind of a sad day but also a relief in a way. This recession has been tough on the best of them, whoever thought Habitat would go out of business, or good old Woolworths.

Anyway it's time, sad but true. It's not immediate, we need to sell the stock we have to pay back the debt we have as a business. It's really hard to run something and build it for a few years for it all to just go horribly wrong, but people aren't spending anywhere like they were and we can't live on air alone!

So I'm a bit sad but now have tons to do :o(

Here's me in happier times on my stall when I was actually making some money, oh and drinking ha ha!

Am I the only one who decorates in summer?

Every summer I have the urge to decorate or in fact finish decorating! I can't help myself the weather gets nice and I think, mmm painting and moving furniture around. Am I strange? Am I the only one?

I don't even know where the urge comes from, there is no family background to this, my mum and dad rarely decorated, their house was functional. But I just have this urge. Does it come from the fact that I can't sit out in the sun for hours on end as I burn and get overheated - read irritable!!  I don't know.

You can see what I did last year, if you look back at my posts from July and August  well I feel the same surge of 'doing' this Summer, so yesterday I sat down with my to do list from last year - of which I'd ticked off a lot! - and got to looking at what still needs to be done and what is new on the list!

Also I've been looking at others blogs and websites for some inspiration!

What kicked me off on this again was seeing Mary from Deluxeville's dining room she started painting, or ex dog room he he! I LOVE this colour she's used, not sure we get Martha Stewart paint over here!

Someone else who always inspires me is Tasha from By Gum By Golly whenever I see a shot of her in their home I love the colours that are used, they are very me! See here for instance

Those are the people's blogs I see regularly and think, ooooh I like that! I do realise I've mentioned both the lovely Tash and Mary in my last 2 posts, I'm not stalking them honest, it just happened that way!!!

Then of course there are great books which give me fabulous inspiration and recently I started stocking one of my faves Inspiring 50s Interiors, if you've never seen this book, believe me you have to get it! I sold out at the Rave, yep that quickly, it's a crappy cover but the inside *sigh* the inside!!! I want soooo many rooms from inside this book, every time I decide to decorate I get it out for a bit of inspiration.

Here are just a few

How cool huh? If only I had the time and money, but at least I can use them as inspiration!

So I'm off to look at my to do list, won't be starting til after this weekend I think, but we'll see, I have some very small paint touch up jobs to do first but then, mmm, downstairs loo I think it needs a makeover

So tell me am I crazy decorating in summer?

I'm back!

Hey all, I'm back! Well in reality I got back at the beginning of the week but with all the sleep catch up and work catch up I haven't been able to post til today!

As ever we had a great time at the Rave and as ever I didn't take hardly any pics, I always forget to take my camera on a night and during the day I work, so I'm a blogging failure ha ha!

However I did get some and I did meet some great people!

First up I thought I'd let you see the reality of setting up for a big show, so many of you just see the end result, there is sooooo much work that goes on before it looks like how you see it.

So here is my stall before anything happens!

Our neighbours, the lovely Bunnys Workshop, Jirral makes fabulous chalkware masks and did I take any pics, nope I did not, so stupid! But here is Jirral and Nicki setting up!

And this is what the main traders rooms looks like as they are starting out, if you've seen in finished you'll know how much work must got into it!

However I did mention that I met some new people, well new as in I've never met them in person but feel like I've known them forever!!

I met the very lovely Kim from The Kim Show blog, she was exactly as I imagined and we got on like we'd known each other forever! She also bought a fabulous pair of peddle pushers or clam diggers from me, which I was so happy for as I've had them forever but they were really too long for me but they suit Kim so much she went back and changed into them straight away as you can see in this pic! Lovely to meet you Kim, hope we get to spend some proper time at some point, sorry I was so busy!

Kim said she felt like an Amazonian woman next to me, well I am rather short ;o)

I also met 2 lovely Australian (I think!) ladies, now here is where I fell down horribly, not only did I not ask their actual names, I didn't even get a pic, cos guess what we started talking about all our lovely blogging friends all over the world and then it got busy and they left before I got chance to ask names and take pics! But they were lovely! Our respective husbands/boyfriends were extremely bemused that people who have never met were talking about the 2 weddings of the month in blog land, namely Tasha from By Gum, By Golly and Mary from Deluxeville and the fact that we'd all met Kim too! So hello ladies, please identify yourselves, and sorry we ended up just chatting and not connecting properly it was lovely to meet you!

As I said we had a great time, we always share at the Rave and Riot with Kaye and Martin from Rocket Originals and that adds to the enjoyment, they are great chalet mates! I would never take a pic of us in the chalet, it's less glamour & more PJs and looking knackered!!

Last but not least, the lovely Australian ladies asked how my grass was coming along, who'd have thought people were interested eh? I'm pleased to announce it's looking fabulous

However I do appear to have sown extremely fast growing grass so it doesn't look like this at the moment ha ha!

We are supposed to get stonkingly hot weather tomorrow and Monday, so I'm preparing for it! We've had a really crappy June so far in the UK!

Hope you are all well

Oh my I've passed the 300 Follower mark!

I can't believe my little blog has reached over 300 followers! Truly I never thought that when I started this anyone would be interested in what I had to write about at all.

I also wouldn't have imagined how much blogging has enriched my life, I love connecting with people all over the work, my only regret is that I'm unlikely to meet some of those fabulous people but still it's nice connecting!

As I said in my last post I'm off to trade at the Rockabilly Rave this week, in fact I'm about to go and pick up the van to start loading it, my least favourite job uuurgh!

I'll be back next week and will try to tell you of my adventures, although do bear in mind I am pretty much stuck on my stall ALL the time so I'll do my best!!

Meantime I'll have a think about a giveaway for my 300, it doesn't seem that long ago that I was going my 200 which was won by Kim at The Kim Show who I'm actually going to get the chance to meet as she is coming to the Rave!!! YAY!

This was us last year at the Rave when some lovely friends delivered a fabulous cocktail to us on the stall, see it's not all work ;o)

See you on the other side, have a great week!

Busy life means quiet blog!

As usual it seems I haven't been around much lately, I haven't even had chance to catch up with my favourite blogs so apologies I haven't disappeared off the face of the earth I'm just having a really busy time!!

I did one of my most favourite things yesterday I had my hair cut at Nina's Vintage Hair Parlour. Not only do I come out of Nina's looking and feeling a million dollars, but I have the time of my life whilst I'm there, you can't really ask for more can you. I had every intention of taking loads of photos this time to let you see it all and experience it with me, but instead Nina and I (then later Claire) just talked and laughed for hours and hours!!

Anyway what I did do is take a before and after shot, it's been ages since I've been to Nina, it's shameful, but I've been broke, so my hair had gotten completely long and out of control, and believe my hair is thick so when it gets out of control, wow, it's really out of control!

I took this shot when I got there.

Wild and unruly hair begone!

I'm far happy than I look! I'd just sat in rush hour traffic from London, uuurgh, but my hair I was over the moon about, I'm a very happy bunny

I was also lucky to get a great book delivered today, I order from the people who supply Schiffer Books and I was lucky to get this! I love Schiffer books, I could run a book store and stock only their books and be very very happy although I'd probably not make any money ever ha ha

This books makes me happy and will provide me with hours and years of joy just gazing at the pretty fabrics, it's called Conversational Print of the 50s, and you know me I do like a conversational print!!

If I could find even one print from this book I'd be pretty happy for a very long time!

I haven't just been having my hair cut and getting stock delivered, I've done a day event, been to a trade fair to check out new stock for later in the year, in fact it's been non stop. Then of course I have the Rockabilly Rave next week, as traders we have to leave on Wednesday, so I load the van on Tuesday. I haven't finished my sewing yet and I still have to go to a supplier on Sunday to get more fabulous stock so I'm not sure you'll hear from me now before the Rave, see you in a couple of weeks, hope you all have a good couple of weekends!

QUICK EDIT - I just noticed I have 299 followers, lordy, one more and I'll have to do another fabulous giveaway, how on earth did that happen so quickly. Thanks all!

Wednesday, 30 March 2011

Off for a few days!

Well my second event of the year is this weekend, hoping it'll be better than the first!

I'm taking Notorious Kitsch to The Brighton Jukebox & Retro Fair this weekend. It's a lot more than just jukeboxes, look at my show report from last year here. I also love doing this event as we have lots of friends amongst the other stall holders and last year we actually managed to have dinner together! I'm hoping we can do it again this year cos it was such fun!

We'll be downstairs this year so if you're looking for us, we're about in the middle of the hall, just opposite Rocket Originals shoe stall, damn how will I resist, temptation will be all around me AGAIN! Upstairs again I think will also be Heyday with their fabulous clothes and many other fantastic goodies. I loved this event last year, soooooo much more than Jukeboxes!

So there'll be lots of this going on, sitting behind the stall

And I'm hoping we'll be making some money too!

See you next week people, have a great weekend!

And the winner is....

Thanks to all those who entered my competition! It is a stunning book, my favourite in my collection!

I drew the name the old fashioned way and thought the only way was in a lovely Alfred Meakin bowl

And the winner is.....

Congratulations Kim!! I know you'll love this book!

Send your address etc to fiona@notoriouskitsch.co.uk and I'll get it off to you.

In other news, my grumpy state was explained this morning when I woke up, I have ANOTHER cold, a sore throat from hell, and I guess that's what was making me grumpy!! So I'm sat here drinking hot honey and lemon which is soooo soothing I'm oohing and ahhing at every sip, yep the throat is that sore!

Anyway there you have it congrats Kim, sorry to all those that entered and didn't win, I guess when I get to 300 I'll do another giveaway, which is closer than I thought it would be now!!

Weekend round up and a bit of grumpy stuff thrown in!

Hello all!

How's things? Good weekend?

Well we didn't, hence the grumpy content too. So I'm warning you if you don't want to hear some grumpiness, switch off now!!

First up I'm going to apologise AGAIN for not getting more photos. However the photos I'm going to put up now are the reality of working at a weekend event, and then you'll see why I never get any photos!

So we see our stall

We order pizza the first night after setting up to be delivered to our hotel room

We buy some cheap wine on the way back to the hotel to accompany the pizza!

And then we sit all weekend on the stall! I love this pic cos Paul looks like he's asleep, he's not, sometimes it feels like that though and to make matters worse there was so little room to move behind this particular stall we were stuck in one place all the time, grrr

So now to the grumpiness, I do try always to be positive on here, but then that's not reality of life is it? I started this year determined to feel positive all the time - as really it's my natural state of being - but today I feel grumpy, very grumpy so I thought I would just put in it writing whether anyone listens or not cos really it always feels better to write it down doesn't it?

Grumpy Pictures, Images and Photos

Here goes

1. The event we did this weekend was a financial disaster. We didn't even cover our expenses, now I will add that we were not the only ones in this position, lots of people were the same, no one has money to spare at the moment, so that's just how it goes I guess. However when you don't even cover your expenses really what you're doing is paying to work for days on end, not much fun!

2. Some b****** stole my husband's disabled parking badge out of our van this weekend. I mean really how low can you get? So he has to reapply and meantime if I take him anywhere we have to park a way away from where we need to be and he just has to walk further, which is not easy for him, grrrrr

3. The recession is starting to p*** me off - see No 1! I've had enough already! It's been going on long enough now, could we just get it over and done with. However, I've got to say since October, as a small business we've really noticed the difference, it seems to be biting hard and deep now, scary times.

4. Everything has become so blumming expensive, the very little money we have is going nowhere, see No1 and No 3!! If you don't live in the UK this won't make sense but if you do you will really have noticed. I don't think ever in my life I have noticed how much food and petrol has increased in price, and to top it all my electric/gas company wrote to us today to say that is going up too! WTF?

5. I'm sick of being broke, see No 1, 3 and 4 he he! I want pretty things again, and not have to think when I run out of foundation whether I can do without it for a while, uuuurgh! If I see nice shoes I want to just buy them! However we are only cash poor not stuff poor, we have some lovely things and I am very grateful for that, and I am grateful for all I have, but I'm sure you know what I mean!

Oh there's loads I want to grump about but I'll stop for now.

That did make me feel better, so thanks!!!

By the way I will draw the competition tomorrow so keep an eye out!!

Wednesday, 26 January 2011

See you on the other side of the weekend!

As regular readers will know every now and again I do big events with my business Notorious Kitsch. These events are all consuming and pretty much take over my life for a couple of days before and after the actual event!

This weekend we're at the Brighton Tattoo Convention it's at Brighton Racecourse on Saturday and Sunday, so if you're around pop upstairs and introduce yourself!

Anyway I will really try to take some pic, but again as regular readers know, sometimes these things get busy and I just forget, sorry!

I do hope you all have a fabulous weekend and don't forget to enter the competition before midnight on Monday! You can find it here

See you all next week!

Weekly round up!

Gosh it's been a busy week, I wish I could blog more regularly and I mean to then I forget and go off and do something else!!

Ah well it does mean when I do a round up I have plenty to chat about!!

As I said in my last post I went to a Trade fair last Sunday to look for new products for Notorious Kitsch. I love seeing what new things suppliers are coming up with and am always excited at the prospect of new stock, it's kinda nice because it's like you can go shopping but it's not costing you anything because you're selling it on!

One of our popular suppliers is Anne Taintor, I love her stuff, it's cute and quirky. They have some really cute new things coming out so I thought I'd give you a little preview with this little pic from the catalogue!

Not sure about the soap cos it works out really expensive but the mini tissue box and nail files are very cute!

So I went on Sunday, then on Monday I went back to help my good friend Sue from Pennychoo on her stand. This is the first big Trade Show she's done so it was a big deal, it's hard to do this kind of thing on your own, after all you have to go to the loo at some point and it could be when the biggest card retailer passes your stand!

I love this new range she's designed, it was inspired by a cat vase we have in our house by our front door, I had no idea she'd done this range and when I said it's fab, she said oh it was your vase that inspired it!

Here's Sue making sure she has her orders sorted!! She'll kill me for posting this, she hates having her picture taking!

I'm so pleased for her, she did pretty well, lots of people loved her designs and she got interest - and orders - from some pretty great companies, so watch out for her designs on the high street soon!

Ok so that was Sunday and Monday!

Tuesday and Thursday I went and worked for someone else part time, as I said this is my year of getting some debt paid down so I need to do some work for people to earn some extra cash. It's very strange doing work for other people when you've worked only for yourself for over 2 years, but if it's going to help then it's all good!

I'm on a no buying ban at the moment, obviously if I'm trying to pay debts down, no point spending money! But, I bought something to continue to sort my sewing area out. I bought this little spool holder

Handy huh? But what's funny is it holds 32 spools of thread, and I thought oh great that means I'll have some spare, mmmm I clearly didn't realise how many supplies I already had, let's just say I need another holder and leave it at that!

Today, Saturday, I decided I would do a blog post, tidy the house a little and then sew, yeah! Not quite sure what I'm going to sew today, I'm in a bit of a quandry about it all. I keep not sewing clothes until I lose some weight but I need some new things now at the weight I am as most of my vintage stuff doesn't fit right now, so really I should get on with it and sew myself some things to wear now!

Anyway, we'll see, no doubt I'll do a post to let you see what I decided to sew in the end

Oh and big news I'm nearly at 200 followers, wow how did that happen, when it does I'll finally get round to doing a giveaway! mmmm now have to think about what!

Have a great weekend everyone

Saturday, 13 November 2010

I'm off!

Just a quick post to say I really will be missing in action for over a week.

First up, mum has her operation this week so we leave on Monday and drive home after her op on Wednesday. Then Thursday morning, I get in the van and drive to one of my favourite events of the year The Rhythm Riot.

It was all a bit scary this morning when we heard that the company that runs the site where it is held had gone into administration, but it turns out that things will operate as normal PHEW for all the people going to the Rhythm Riot, that would have been a disaster as both the bands and the customers travel from all over the world to get there!

So although I work 15 hour days there and don't get any chance for fun, I am looking forward to catching up with lots of old friends, I'll be meeting some people I've never met before but know really well online, which is weird! If you are going and we know each other online but not in person please tell me, I'm rubbish at recognising people from photos, I have the memory of a goldfish and I'll be tired, so shake me really hard by the shoulders and shout your name at me.... only kidding but please say hi. We have our stall at the back of the main hall in between the record stalls, this is great as we get to see ALL the bands from a great vantage point as we're up some steps, BUT it means we're open from 11am to 2pm yep people that long!!

I would promise you pictures and video but this is one event I know it won't happen at, I'm just working too hard, sorry!

Oh wow I have no pretty pictures for this post, boring huh?! Sorry! See you on the other side......

Sunday, 3 October 2010

Report - better late than never!!

Oh dear, bad blogger alert! Not only have I not posted for over a week, but I swore that I would do one of my video reports, AND I did start, but before I went to the event I was so busy I forgot to charge it up, eeek! So I started the video and it promptly ran out of battery, so sorry!

Anyway last weekend as I said in my previous post was Jukebox Madness, I took Notorious Kitsch along and many other traders were there who are good friends so although we don't get to leave the stall much, it's kind of like having an event with your mates!!

Last year we decided with some friends that this year we would split one large space between us, Trevor and Donna sell fabulous lamps and mid century furniture to die for. They don't have a website so this will just be horribly tempting!!

Here are some of the wonderful things they had on their stall! I love the fact that they happened to be set up near the sweet shop sign, for me their stall IS a sweet shop! You can see my set up on the left of the photo

It's so hard to get across all the fabulous things on their stall, lamps, furniture, wall bars and some fabulous lucite handbags!

I was particularly taken with the lamp in the middle of the pic, if you look closely it's a standard lamp with 3 offshoots, then it also has a shelf and 2 little plant pots which would look divine with small cactus in! I wanted this soooo much, and even more of a torture it didn't sell, however I just can't justify spending that much when I have so little!!

More fabulous lamps, sigh....

Ah yes, there is the lovely Shona from Heyday shopping before the event starts, now this IS the advantage of being a stallholder, if you do have a bit of spare cash before the event, you do get the pickings!!

Another great stall, looks at all those goodies, jewellery, handbags, shoes, sigh again!

Love the sign 'All Good Girls go to retro heaven'! I also freakily didn't notice myself reflected in the mirror when taking the pic, I was totally distracted by all the loveliness for sale!

It's very hard to make stalls look exciting in a photo, it's strange as when you're there you can stand a long way back and see all the fabulousness but in a picture it never quite comes across!

I didn't get a pic of Rocket Originals or Heyday, sorry but I just ran out of time!

We did however have a lovely meal on Saturday night kindly arranged by Shona from Heyday, we rarely get an evening out as stallholders as we work such long hours at events, but we decided that we should get together for dinner at this one. We had a lovely evening, with Shona and her lovely husband Twain (I've probably spelt that wrong sorry!), Kay and Martin from Rocket Originals,  and Phil & Jo from Freddies of Pinewood who although weren't trading at the event joined us for dinner!

As Kay and Martin were staying with us for this event we also had a lovely time catching up, I can't believe I didn't take pictures of us at dinner, although we were all rather tired after a days trading!

Also, sneak preview - no pictures! Kay showed me the new designs they have in the pipework at Rocket Originals, ladies you are in for a treat, I can't wait, I already have my forward order in!

So sorry I didn't do any video, sorry the pics are a bit crap, but I'll be back on form again soon!!

Calling all London readers!

This weekend Notorious Kitsch will be at Jukebox Madness at Kempton Park Racecourse.

Not only will we be there but so will Rocket Originals, Heyday, Home Sweet Homestyle, and soooo many more. I know of at least 2 fabulous vintage clothes stalls which will be there and a stall selling 50s american lamps too, I know this as we're next to each other!

Anyway I wanted to remind you all about this as I have only just discovered how good these events are. We did Jukebox Madness for the first time last year on the recommendation of Mike and Jan at Home Sweet Homestyle, they said it was great. I had no idea what to expect but if they said it would be good I trust them. I was amazed! It was fantastic. I thought it would be just a jukebox fair with a few random stalls as well, actually it was more like a vintage fair with a few jukebox stalls thrown in! I could have spent a fortune there, but I was there to make money not spend it, but it was really hard not to spend!

So I wanted to remind you all about it. It really is worth a visit, and if you do and we haven't met before please pop by and say hello!

I posted about the Brighton Jukebox Fair earlier in the year here if you don't believe me about how good these things are!

Oh no, there are no pics in this post, mmmm what shall I put up, ok a little something from all the shops above!

First up, the Hibiscus Georgia Style from Rocket Originals

Next up 1940s Mary Dress in Black, this is such a cute style!

And last but certainly not least this fabulous cocktail trolley from Home Sweet Homestyle!

I struggled to choose just one thing from all these fab sites, but hey this is just a taster.

If you are in London or surrounding areas this weekend, pop to Jukebox Madness, I swear you will not regret it, but bring cash, you would regret not doing so!!!

Sorry to all those not close by, I don't usually do regional posts, but really want people to support this event as it's so much better than I thought it would be!!

I'll take video and pics, honest I will this time, we're indoors so hopefully no gale related disasters!!

A fresh start in September!

I know it's sounds crazy because I'm 43 and it has been a very long time since I was at school, I also don't have children so it's not even that which brings about a new beginning feeling in September, but I always feel September is time for a fresh start. I would say I'm far more likely to make resolutions in September than in January, although I do get bowled along by other peoples January resolutions!

September to me always feels like a breathe of fresh air, Summer is great, but I always feel like I have to 'make the most of it' especially in the UK, cos sometimes we don't even get a Summer to speak of, for us in the South of England it's been pretty good this year, well apart from August, but we all know what happened to me the other weekend, so I won't go on .....

Also had a fantastic find at a charity shop the other day, 6 50's glasses, so cheap you would pass out, here they are!

There are 2 orange - not so keen on orange, 2 yellow, one green & one red which I love! One of the orange is faded & the gold rim is worn but hey it's still a set, and no don't have heart attack the glass holder didn't come with it, we had that anyway!

Not only is it a fresh start for me, but also for Notorious Kitsch, yes we actually have already started planning for the Christmas season, I know it seems early but we have to start thinking about it before you guys do!

Anyway we went to a huge trade fair yesterday and found some lovely new suppliers which we're excited about at!

Here's a sneak peek of a couple of things :o)

A fab repro brooch

And another

Cute huh? We're very excited to be stocking some jewellery items now! But it will be a few weeks before you can get them from us.

Other exciting stuff to come too!
